Located in the heart of a serene nipah palm plantation in Sanglang near the Kedah border, Ladang Nipah Kipli offers a tranquil retreat. Unlike conventional palm plantations, nipah palms produce a sweet sap called nira nipah, a local delicacy.
Visitors can relax amid the peaceful surroundings, which include huts, swings, and dining tables. Local stalls offer a variety of delicious treats such as nira nipah, laksa, air batu campur (shaved ice with sweet toppings), and leng chee kang (a refreshing syrup drink with ingredients like red dates, goji berries, longan, and white fungus), all at reasonable prices.

Gua Kelam

Just a kilometer from the quaint town of Kaki Bukit, near the Thailand border, you'll find the stunning Gua Kelam, or Cave of Darkness. These days, visitors can pick between two cool caves to explore: Gua Kelam 1, which boasts a 400-meter underground river, and Gua Kelam 2, which is above ground.
Back in the day, Gua Kelam 1 was a handy shortcut for hauling heavy materials from Gua Kelam 2. Now, when you cross the bridge to Gua Kelam 2, you're greeted with a colorful 1.5-kilometer path that winds its way into the cave, leading to the beautiful Secret Garden.

Wang Kelian Weekend Market

Located in Wang Kelian village in Perlis, right on the Malaysian-Thai border, the Wang Kelian Weekend Market features around 80 lively stalls. Most of the traders are from Thailand, offering a huge range of items at prices that are cheaper than other Malaysian markets.
You can find all sorts of things here, from jewelry and handicrafts to toys, clothing, fresh fruits, and delicious food. Plus, both Malaysian and Thai citizens can cross the border up to 1 km on either side to enjoy everything this vibrant market has to offer.
The market is currently closed, but it is reported in 2024 that the Malaysian government is committed to re-opening the vibrant market so that both visitors and locals can enjoy the iconic location.
